Daniel Liebau

Adjunct Faculty Member, Singapore Management University

Dan is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Singapore Management University (SMU), teaching Digital Assets and Decentralized Finance courses. He has published articles on Security Tokens, ICOs and cryptocurrency issuer disclosures. 

Currently, he focuses his research on blockchains’ sustainability characteristics and governance of decentralized organizations. Dan’s work got accepted by large publishers, including Springer, MIT Press and Wiley. Dan has contributed to many events as a speaker,  including Mainnet in New York, the FinTech Festival in Singapore and the Alternative Investment Summit in Dubai. Media like Bloomberg, Coindesk and ESG Investor have featured him. 

Daniel also serves as the Chief Investment Officer of the Modular Blockchain Fund at Modular Asset Management. The fund uses the sustainability characteristics of blockchains to take investment decisions. Before entering the digital asset industry, Daniel worked in traditional finance for 15 years, mostly leading technology teams at investment banking institutions like UBS, Barclays Capital and HSBC. He is completing his PhD in Finance at Erasmus University in the Netherlands. Daniel also holds an MSc in Innovation from SMU and a Master of Finance from IE business school.
